Working with volunteers to map our urban tree canopy

In the Spring of 2013, during Mayor Fischer’s week of service, a group of dedicated volunteers came together to help map and collect data for all of downtown Louisville’s trees. Some of these volunteers came back and worked through the summer of 2013 to finish collecting data on location, size, planting environs, and health. The result is downtown Louisville’s first open digital snapshot of its canopy.
