If you’ve been to ReSurfaced at night, or seen the abundance of night images on social media, you have witnessed the incredible lighting design of Roof Axis. Their amazing skills transform the facades into a piece of art as the sunsets.
“I love to light things up and imbue an essence of beauty. The facades are already beautiful on their own, but having the opportunity to enhance such a cool historic canvas with our lighting and give it a modern-urban feel, just makes things even better.” – Chad
Roof Axis has continually added lighting design elements that have enhanced the space over time including the pallet lounge area that now glows like a red furnace.
“When I heard about ReSurfaced and the efforts the local community was making to bring this project to live, I couldn’t help but envision how amazing the site would look all lit up. We wanted to get involved immediately and be part of the public-spirited, artistic community. There is such a strong sense of involvement and unity here that I haven’t experienced anywhere else; it’s hard not to get inspired and want to revitalize such a great historic urban city.” – Chad
Productions has been around since 2008, originally from Tallahassee, Florida. When Roof Axis first came to Louisville to do site-lighting for Forecastle in 2013 (lighting up the fountains, signage, disco yacht, and other elements) they fell in love with Louisville. After Mo McKnight Howe showed the team around the city they were hooked. Within five days, they were sold, signed a lease and haven’t looked back. We at City Collaborative would love to see Roof Axis evolve with the city and work with everyone to help bring more events to life. Contact them at http://roofaxis.com!
We highly recommend Roof Axis and look forward to working with them on future ReSurfaced projects and seeing what other spaces they beautify with their lighting design talent.
